The District of Columbia Department of Motor Vehicles (DC DMV) seeks a contractor to provide daily temporary staffing services at multiple DMV locations. The objective of this solicitation is to support the DMV’s organizational mission through supplemental, temporary staffing services. We need one lot attendant to work eight hours per day, two days a week at 95 M Street, one lot attendant to work eight hours per day, two days a week at Benning Ridge, one lot attendant to work eight hours a day, three days a week at Brentwood, and one support services assistant to work eight hours a day, five days a week at 95 M Street for a period of ninety days. The DMV wishes to set up a contract with a company to provide these services.
BACKGROUND:
The DMV has utilized temporary staff for several years and has utilized the services of temporary lot attendants for several months. This temporary staff supplements permanent staffing. The temporary staff at the DMV has daily customer contact at our locations. The DMV utilizes temporary staffing to meet both short-term and long-term organizational needs.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
• The Contractor shall provide the following temporary staff to provide services:
• Parking and Lot Attendants
• The Contractor shall provide a lot attendant to work eight (8) hours per day, two (2) days a week, at 95 M Street, NW, Washington, DC.
• The Contractor shall provide a lot attendant to work eight (8) hours per day, two (2) days a week, at Benning Ridge Station.
• The Contractor shall provide a lot attendant to work eight (8) hours a day, three (3) days a week at the Brentwood Station.
• Have the ability to work in all types of weather.
• Good customer services skills, as they are required to interact with DMV customers on a continuous basis.
• Report to work timely, every day of your assignment.
• Have the capability to direct traffic in a busy parking lot.
• Must have the capability of determining when to direct customers to use public parking, typically when the parking lot is full.
• Have the capability to de-escalate minor customer situations such as disputes over a parking space.
• DC Residency
BACKGROUND SCREENING:
Must have a review of criminal, immigration,
and FBI records. Any candidate who has been convicted or found not guilty by reason of insanity (by a military or civilian court) in the past seven years, was released from prison in the past five years, or is wanted or under indictment for committing certain felonies or who has been found mentally incompetent will not be permitted to work at the DC DMV. The check must also verify that the candidate is a U.S. citizen or a lawful permanent resident as required by law. Failure to pass such a background check will disqualify a candidate from serving as temporary staff at the DC DMV under this contract.
Drug and Alcohol Screening
The Contractor shall conduct pre-employment drug and alcohol testing. The temporary staff must be subject to random drug and alcohol testing by the Contractor. Failure to pass such a test will disqualify the individual immediately from serving as a temporary employee at the DC DMV under this contract.
